4 Reasons Art Blogs Generate Thousands of Views a Month

Are you ready to start driving more traffic to your art blog? In this post, I will share with you 4 reasons art blogs generate thousands of views a month. Websites and blogs do not rank high in the search results by accident or luck. There is an algorithm […]

There is an algorithm that search engines use to rate the importance of a site. When a site has gained authority it will be ranked higher in the search results.

Why do you want your site to be ranked higher in search results?

The answer is simple, you will gain a tremendous amount of traffic to your site. The more people you have going to your site, the more people will see your artwork. The more people who see your art, the better your chance will be to land a sale.

That is the end goal, right?

You are spending time on social media, answering emails, uploading art to your website and writing blog posts to generate income from your art.

If you are spending all of that time on your art business, wouldn’t you like to have your time be productive and produce positive results?

I am going to talk about how you can be productive blogging.

To be successful selling your art online you have to be good at digital marketing, email marketing, and social media marketing.

Digital marketing is all about making a presence online. To build an online presence, you must write valuable content that will attract your target audience.

The dilemma most bloggers have is that they spend a great deal of time writing great content that nobody sees.

How many times have you heard me say, “You have to create content if you want to sell art online?”

Businesses of all sizes know that if they want to compete online they need to have a team of marketers creating a ton of high-quality content for their brand.

But you are an artist. How can you do it alone?

You are one person with many jobs. You create the art, market and promote the art, engage with potential customers, answer emails, and the list goes on.

How can you do all that work and still have time to sit in front of the computer to write a blog post?

The reality is that there will be things that you will need to get done if you would like to sell art online.

Content marketing or blogging is one of those jobs.

If you want to be noticed online, you are going to have to write a lot of content.

Artists you find online are not there by accident.

They are not at the top of the search results because they have better art than someone else.

They are there because they are better marketers.

If you want to be noticed online your content marketing plan needs to be better than ever.

Content Marketing Institute stated that 70% of B2B marketers surveyed say that they are creating more content in 2017 than in 2016.

If you want to stay in the game you are going to have to create more content. The good news is that there are a lot of artists that do not blog on a consistent basis. By sticking to a consistent writing schedule you will separate yourself from them.

Why is Content Marketing Important?

It’s almost time for a bit of spring cleaning, so we wanted to share some brand new trends that are due to revolutionise marketing for art galleries. Update your gallery’s strategy and jump on these ideas, or you might risk becoming irrelevant (sorry.)

It’s not even February yet, but we feel like more features than ever are being released into the digital world. Whatsapp have added a GIF function (about time), Instagram have predictably added a live video function and bots have taken Facebook messenger by storm. We’re giddy for what the rest of 2017 will bring. For now, here’s a quick update on a few things we think will influence digital marketing for art galleries in particular.

1. Live video

Live video is everywhere. I feel like I get a notification every day from one of my friends going live on Facebook or Instagram. I can’t even walk into the centre of Manchester without seeing a billboard about how to go live on Facebook. You can’t deny it, it’s bloody everywhere.

We tested out live video a couple of months ago at a client event, and the results were great. If you’re not in the know about live video, the reason it’s so great is that it notifies the people who like your page or follow you on Instagram. This means your existing audience is immediately aware that you’re posting live content.

Live content can help you to stand out from the crowd when a lot of organisations rely on social scheduling. It can give amazing insight into your gallery, and make it look a lot more authentic.

So here are some ideas for using live video as part of social media marketing for art galleries. You could have it running during the launch night of a new exhibition, or display a new piece that comes into the gallery if you want to shout about it. Alternatively, if you have some particularly well known artists at the gallery, sponsor the post and host an artist Q & A session where Facebook users can ask questions in the videos comment section.
